Obesity , Fast Food, and the Government
My paper is about why fast food companies targeting low income families and why doesn't the government fund programs to help low income families eat healthier. Obesity is growing in this country at a rapid rate, and before we can blame it on lack of exercise and fast food we have to first understand why. I'm exploring that why and what drives people to constantly want fast food. The part I'm sort of struggling with is how can we solve this problem. There's no real solution to ending obesity unless we get rid of fast food places period. I don't see that happening for a number of reasons. Fast food corporations have grown to be so big and they control part of the economy. Second, people have become so robotic when it comes to eating fast food. Third, there aren't enough people who see the problem and want to fix it. The government isn't going to fix the problem if the people don't complain. These low income families are stuck in the fast food cycle, because they can't afford to buy fruits and vegetables. Obesity is high amongst minorities and will continue to rise if we don't do something about it.

Obesity is one of the main problems when involving food production. Its sad to see our economy ending up like this. Fighting obesity is so hard to beat because people rely on cheap and easily affordable food at their hands. Instead of having fruits and vegetables be expensive they should raise the prices in unhealthy food and decrease the price in healthy foods. If the government doesn't take part in changing this, no one will.
