Is fast food the enemy?

In this article it mainly talks about the percentages of obesity throughout the years and how it has grown. Being that the population of restaurants doubled since 1970, is an reason. 33.8% of the U.S. suffers from obesity and furthermore 19% of children and adolescents happened to be affected by obesity as well . As the article slowly explains what can possibly be the reasoning for obesity, it comes along to question the environment. By explaining how in the pioneer days there wasn't any fast food restaurants and everyone mostly had to farm and make their own crops which resulted into less obesity rates. Then compare to today's situation. I happen to believe that individually, you have to know yourself, if you know you wouldn't be able to handle eating out because you're going to gain unhealthy weight. Then you have to trade in that shake for yogurt or a smoothie. The article also shows what you can possibly do to order healthy meals at fast food restaurant. But in my opinion , the waiter or waitress's job is to convince you to buy that extra drink for cheap or to buy desserts so you won't be getting any help from nobody but yourself. That's it , that's all. It would have to start with you because the industry doesn't care.

  1. I uunderstand what you're saying because fast food is getting too unhealthy. If you eat it regularly, it can be a dangerous thing, even with the obesity & weight gain, it can cause you your health or even your life. We should change our ways of representing our food to society.
