MASK
Throughout this unit my view towards my country and government has changed drastically. It is unbelievable what our government conceals from us purposely, out of fear wed stop buying the product because of the process it goes through. Therefore their profits would plummet, but don't you believe its one of the government's jobs to protect and benefit the people. Not conceal the methods and practices they use when producing our foods and ensuring these processes are healthy and morally acceptable, and not solely to make a profit. Not only that but how these massive corporations basically control portions of our government, which makes it extremely difficult to put a stop to the horrible methods, practices, and manipulation they use throughout our country. Our government in ways is corrupt and it is scary because they do not see a problem with it and have done nothing to solve the issues in our food industry. I am more conscious about what I eat, but it is hard to escape the processed food industry because we have all grown up depending on it and being accustomed to it. I want to change the way I eat, by eating healthier organic foods but it's difficult when you still live with your family and you aren't the one buying the groceries. When I'm older living on my own I'm going to make a conscious effort to be aware of what I consume. My perspectives and consciousness have awaken and shifted to see what our world has really become.

I definitely feel what you're saying. I don't want to eat the food my family buys, but I have to because I have no choice. And unfortunately, the same thing applies to the country. I don't want to have to eat this country's processed food, but sometimes I feel that I have no choice. It is really disturbing to find out the politics of not only food, but the politics of most of the things our government deals with. Why must things be covered up with one lie after another? Like fixing food health problems with more chemicals and GMOs. Why can't food just be honestly and genuinely good so we don't have to live in fear?
