This article discusses that genetically modified organisms in food causes infertility in both men, women, and even animals. This has become such a big problem that it lead the European Union to ban the use of GMO products throughout Europe. The United States continues to allow the use of GMOs in our nation. In 2008, the Austrian Health Ministers reported that their research indicated fertility rates deteriorated dramatically because of GMO products. In the article, it explained that people who take in GMO foods regularly are more likely to become sick, age much faster and have a harder time getting/staying pregnant. In one report, the testicles of some animals changed colors from a normal pink to an alarming blue after being fed GMO produced feed. In addition to this, sperm was shown to be altered, resulting in fewer pregnancies overall. DNA has also shown alteration after the consumption of even the smallest amount of GMO foods. Female animals being studied showed an alarming increase in an inability to get pregnant as well as a spike in premature births; low birth weight babies and infant mortality after being fed a regular died of GMO. In Europe, rats given GMO feed were shown to give birth to babies that regularly died within weeks of their birth. So in conclusion, GMO products are very dangerous and people should try to cut down on it.
The topic of GMOs is very interesting, I never knew that eating foods that contain GMOs can cause infertility. It concerns me that the US still allows the use of GMOs in our food. Why do we still allow GMOs to be in our food? I bet it has something to do with money because you know everything in today's world revolves around money. It's truly sad, but I mean it is what it is. I believe that I don't consume any type of GMOs but I can't be 100% sure. On the box of some of the foods I buy it says that the food doesn't contain any GMOs which makes me feel a little more secure. We must stand up and fight for the ban of GMOs in the US.
