With this unit, it has opened my eyes about how much control our country has over our food. The sad reality is that they don't control the food we consume to protect us or for our health, they do it for themselves. They do it for the money. They don't take in mind the lives of the animals or the environment providing us with the food. It really has made me aware of what I am putting inside my body, how it came here and how it was made. I have been eating less and less meat now that I reflect upon the time from before and after this unit. Also, with the topic I did for my research paper, it has been slowly convincing me to change my eating habits into starting a vegan diet.
If I had this knowledge four years before, I think I would have became a vegan sooner.
What I would do to influence the food industry is simply inform people about food politics. And inform then mmmmm about the benefits of buying local fruits and vegetables, cooking, and possibly becoming vegan. I would go to different locations and help spread awareness and enlighten people from all around.
