Clever Title To My Post

This unit has definitely been something.

I honestly enjoyed learning about everything in this unit. I was already aware that things were bad in the food industry but I did learn more information, which I don’t think is ever bad. The more knowledge, the better really.

My mindset on the country? I don’t know if it’s wavered that much. I wasn’t exactly surprised with everything we learned? It just angers that’s how things are. The monopoly in the industry that has spilled our government, which is the only way we could’ve gotten any kind of regulation.

The system is pretty freaking screwed up and it sucks. A lot.

I want to be a lot more aware of what I eat and I hope that I can. I don’t think it’s possible for me to go vegan though? Due to both the existence of In n Out and just the change. There’s a lot that goes into changing your diet like that. I have the most respect for people who have the conviction to do so. That is as long as they don’t judge me for enjoying a double double with grilled onions and a strawberry lemonade. Sorry, I read Christy’s title and now it’s on my mind.

Back to my actual blog post!

It’s going to be difficult to actually enforce my awareness in what I eat for the moment. I live with my mom, two younger sisters, grandpa, aunt, and cousin. All of which don’t really care about the quality of their food and where it comes from. Because of this, I won’t be able to make many changes in my diet now. I think I’m the only one that eats freaking salad in the house. And that’s not even cause it’s healthy. I just like salad.

This all kind of keeps me from doing anything now. A house full of picky eaters tend to do that. But, hey we’re seniors and we’ll all be leaving soon.

So if anyone out there is like me and cares about trying to be more aware in eating a bit healthier but faces these difficulties, then just remember opportunities will be preventing themselves soon for us to leave. We’’ leave and be free to do what we want and eat what we want. But, until then we have our research papers I guess.
