Food and Mental Health

I ended up developing my research question into it being “How does a vegan diet vs eating animals/ animal products affect our mental health?” My original question was “How does food affect our mood?” but I decided to make it more specific and throw in some vegan vs non vegan discussion. But I think I am still going to include some of the research I found about the effects of food and our mood because I found some pretty interesting resources. Plus it is still a part of the topic because mood is under mental health.
Personally, I am not vegan but some of my family members are and so that had an influence in changing my research question. I have thought about trying a vegan diet due to environmental concerns and how poorly animals are treated by food manufacturers. So this research paper is giving me reasons as to why being vegan is very beneficial.
Not only does being vegan give you physical benefits but also mental.
What my research is falling short is trying to look for credible sources. There are plenty of “.com” websites that seem to have pretty good facts but no proof to back them up.
I'm also not sure about how I can further improve my research. What else would fit in?
So far I have looked up the nutrients found in vegan friendly foods that benefit our mental health; moreover, I found a video that talks about a study finding that people on a vegan were less depressed and stressed, more productive, and overall felt better than those who consume animals and animal products.
I'm still in process of trying to reach that page minimum. I hope it isn't hard trying to end it.
