What If.....

Speaking of the whole online and anonymous thing, what if Ms. Colln made the blogging that way? I think it would've been cool to experience it that way, of course she would know whose comments and posts belonged to who but we as a class would be oblivious to who they belong to. I'm sure everyone would be nervous at first to post, like in the very beginning Ms. Colln had to get on us about posting and it came in little trickles, but now everyone is comfortable doing so. Everyone comments and is civil and polite to everyone's perspectives, beliefs, and ideas about certain topics. It would've been fun to try and figure out who was posting what and if we finally revealed ourselves, I feel like people would have never expected people to be the authors of the post they read. Honestly everyone falls into a world of their own when they sit down to write or type, every individual has they're unique rhythm and vibe. It would've been a really cool idea if Ms. Colln assigned us a side about a very moving or heated topic and we had to give ideas, facts, and point of views on the topic but all of it was anonymous. We would all have a debate about the topic till a set time when all the blogging would have to stop and everyone's writing would be linked to the author and their name. Its just an idea I guess but it would be fun to experiment with in this unit I think. Being able to use anonymity and experience it first hand would be quite fascinating to those who have never really used it before. Since the internet and social media dominate in our society it wouldn't be bad to introduce a few new things to students, to further open up and expand their minds about what the web really holds and the potential it really has.
