Online and Anonymous Reflection
This unit has really taught me new things about online anonymous posting. Before I always saw anonymous posting as a bad thing. Seeing trolls comment negative things on social media and websites gave it a bad reputation. After reading other blog posts and articles it showed me that anonymous posting isn't always negative. There are more good ways it used and not all bad. Anonymity are for those who don't like having their identity exposed online 24/7. Which is understandable, because now everyone's life is out there for all eyes to see. Being able to be anonymous sometimes is a good thing. Now I have a different outlook on online posting. If we took away anonymous posting and groups then people wouldn't be able to get help or express themselves. It's an outlet and allows them to be able to open up and who are we to take that from them because of some mindless trolls.

I agree with you, anonymous posting is not always negative there are positive sides to it. It assists others in time of need such as questions about health and awkward topics. Although there are negative comments out there, anonymous posting should not be taken away because of others in society who use it in a harmful way.
ReplyDeleteBeing online and anonymous isn't always used negatively. It helps those use their voice without revealing their identity. They just don't want the hate! Like Brooklin said, anonymous posting shouldn't be banned or discouraged because of those who abuse it.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you are saying, this lesson we learned has made me realize a lot when it comes to online anonymity. Yes it has been perceived to be this negative thing because people tend to use it to harass others and could end up people doing really bad things to themselves however; so many pros can be pulled from this. Many people need this for real beneficial help and people should not be afraid to be posting anything because they are afraid of what they will get told. People need to work on putting that to an end because it ruins others good opportunities.
