Reflection

This unit was really an eyeopener for me. It has taught me that words coming from a total stranger could hurt just as bad or even worse compared to someone you know. People try to avoid being trolled as much as possible but there's no hiding from it. Trolls either pick random victims for the day, or they plan and target one specific person/group. Although we only hear about the negative side of being online and anonymous, it is also used for positive reasons. People can express themselves without revealing their identity because they don't want the hate. They can freely ask questions and feel safe, because nobody knows who they are. If we take away the option of being online and anonymous, it's like we're taking away a right. People deserve to feel safe online.

  1. I agree with what you're saying and yeah I don't think the internet should be censored or changed from the way it is. Trolling is just a side-effect but it's one that I'm willing to deal with.

  2. I agree with you. People should always feel safe and the people who strip away someone right of free speech should get theirs strip away also. Trolls always find something to pick at. Trolls need to find their own life and live. #freespeech
