Online anonymous

Anonymity online may always be seen with a sour eye. It's scary to think that someone can easily create a new identity and go after any person no matter how innocent the victim turns out to be. What's scarier is to know the stories of online "trolls" are common and their attacks spread like wildfire. However, between all the nastiness that is trolling, there remains many positive aspects to being able to go online anonymously. Because people have the choice to keep their identity hidden, some of them feel more freedom of expressing who they are or what they've gone through. For example, online advice groups give people the chance to tell their stories without ever sharing their identity. These type of sites allow people to feel stronger and less alone, now that they are conncected to people who share similar stories. This type of therapeutical habit may not be the most recommended, but it is most certainly an option. People using their anonymous face to help others feel less alone proves that the online anonymous option does not necessarily mean that anonymity is only bad; it can also be used for good deeds.
